Description
Founded in 2009 in the Adana Industrial Zone, Island Denim Tekstil A.Ş. reimagines indigo dyeing through innovation, craftsmanship, and sustainability. After seven years of R&D, the company developed a unique bobbin indigo dyeing system, enabling indigo to be dyed directly on yarn wound in bobbins — a world-first innovation that replaces the limits of rope and slasher dyeing.
This process offers complete flexibility: any yarn count (1–200 Ne), any fiber blend — cotton, linen, viscose, Tencel™, hemp — and no minimum quantity restrictions. It also allows dyeing of CoreSpun and CoreYarn threads, combining strength, elasticity, and the authentic look of denim.
Island Denim produces indigo, Delavé, and sulfur-dyed yarns and transforms them into woven and knitted fabrics at its integrated facilities. With a monthly capacity of 100,000 kg of dyed yarn, 200,000 m of woven fabric, and 30,000 kg of knitted fabric, the company offers fabrics ranging from 40 g/m² to 750 g/m². Its signature Delavé Indigo Process extends the color range to over 120 shades, maintaining the same wash-down behavior as classic indigo.
Sustainability is at the heart of Island Denim’s identity. The company meets about 50% of its electricity needs through solar energy and operates the Blue Sustain Project, which recycles indigo dye wastewater — achieving 50% water, 20% dye, and 30% chemical savings.
Certified under GOTS, OCS, and RCS, Island Denim ensures organic and recycled content integrity, ethical working conditions, and full traceability. Audited by Control Union and supported by digital production tracking, every stage — from fiber to fabric — reflects transparency and accountability.
Beyond technology, Island Denim values people, creativity, and responsibility. Its culture encourages innovation and collaboration, uniting engineers, designers, and artisans around one shared vision: creating fabrics that respect both heritage and the planet.
Partnering with premium and boutique brands worldwide, Island Denim stands as a symbol of sustainable craftsmanship. Each fabric, yarn, and garment embodies its timeless philosophy: Born to Be Indigo.
