I'm a British 'country bumpkin' who moved to Los Angeles in 2016 to work on my tan. Yorkshire Gold teabags are much more expensive here which has been a real problem, but I love the weather, the abundance of vintage and the close knit denim community. When I'm not thinking about denim, I am mining the algorithm for culture shifts, macro trends, shifting consumer behavior and dumb cat videos.

I love asking myself questions before even looking for answers. I’m from Italy, so don’t be surprised if an Italian word slips into my English now and then. It just happens. I’m curious by nature. Giant washing machines don’t intimidate me. I actually find them beautiful. Press start, wait, and suddenly denim comes out with a whole new personality. I can be serious about what matters, but I laugh easily, especially at myself. And yes, some of the best conversations happen over a good dish and a glass of wine.

My relationship with denim started when I was 16 — and, safe to say I've never felt blue about it. I began my career in biotechnology, working with enzymes for textile applications, before moving from genes to jeans, discovering the world of denim where science, creativity, and culture unexpectedly meet. Over the years I’ve worked across innovation, brands, and chemical development, fascinated by how denim keeps reinventing itself. Denim has been a constant companion in my life — and after all these years, I’m still curious to see where it goes next. Outside work, I enjoy staying active outdoors and spending time with my family—often on the lookout for great denim!!!

I grew up between denim and engines — passions that still shape who I am today.  As Creative Director of ISKO LUXURY BY PG, I’m known as the “Wizard of Denim”, transforming the world’s most democratic fabric into couture-level luxury through vision and craftsmanship. A Leo born in mid-August, I’m energetic and deeply connected to my roots. I choose the quiet of the mountains with my wife, our four children, and our dog over the frenzy of nightlife — though nothing beats long dinners with lifelong friends.

I love good sake, a glass of wine, delicious meat, fresh fish, and vegetables. I’m Tatsushi, President of Kuroki. The water in Ibara City, Okayama, is perfect for dyeing denim — it gives the fabric a shade of blue reminiscent of the sky peeking through clouds after a rain shower. I’ve been studying English, but I’m still at a kid’s level. Simple words and daily practice — that’s my little secret. I believe that consistency is power. Keep going, keep learning, keep laughing. That’s how we grow — just like denim, fading beautifully over time, gaining character every day.

My name is Julieta Mercerat, and I’m more Argentinian than Leo Messi and empanadas combined. A few years ago, I moved to Paris to soak up the vibrant energy of this loud, inspiring, never-boring city. I’ve worked in denim for several years, and what I love most about this indigo universe isn’t just the fabric, it’s the incredible people and the way denim evolves with us. Beyond denim, I’m focused on understanding how our industry grows into a more responsible and sustainable version of itself.
