The expression “the body as a design vertigo” evokes a profound and fascinating concept that brings together philosophy, architecture, art and design, and approaches the world of fashion from a different perspective. At its centre is the human being, and the idea of the human body no longer as a mere standard measure or passive spectator, but as a dynamic, destabilising force that generates space. Rather than designing rigid spaces to which the body must simply “adapt”, design becomes a form of “vertigo”: an exploration of the limits of movement, the senses and emotional responses. This is where it begins.
